"The Lack of Proper Nail Education Facing the Nail Industry"
April 5, 2017
Please read the Facebook post below posted by Doug Schoon, who is an internationally-recognized scientist, author and educator with over 30 years experience in the cosmetic, beauty and personal care industry.
Technical” on FB (started April 1, 9:00AM) that everyone should take the time to read. This stated as a discussion about the risks of the so-called Russian Manicure, but has evolved into a discussion about a very grave problem facing the nail industry- the lack of proper nail education and the abundance of “not good to terrible educators”. Some fall in this category and don’t know it or won’t admit it. I’m not trying to embarrass anyone or hurt their feelings, but this has got to change. See my comments from that discussion below. “Too many doing nails, don't know what they are doing. Educators and schools are passing people who should be shown the door and asked never to return. Many who want to learn, are taught myths and misinformation from old school educators who should NOT be allowed to teach. Or educators that teach their opinion, in place of the facts. Or schools that don't care what they teach, just so they get their MONEY. Or salons that will hire anyone no matter what their skill/education level is. Let's call it for what it is. Educators have the power to save or destroy this industry. What's happening is largely a reflection of their work or of their lacking. Educators, some of you are great, some of you are good, some of you are NOT good and some are TERRIBLE. Those in the "not good to terrible" zone need to change or stop educating- please.” “The excellent to good educators should be actively and aggressively calling out the not good to terrible educators and STOP turning a blind-eye while they destroy everyone's business. Too many just ignore this problem and think it has nothing to do with them, but they are wrong. Our industry is slowly killing itself and we need to do some to stop this NOW. Not later or someday... NOW.”
Remember, you are trusting these manicurists with the health of your skin! If anyone questions our qualifications, please note, I work with Dr. Chris Adigun, a dermatologist in North Carolina. In addition, all our research (which is posted on our web page, https://www.youveeshield.com/documents, has been verified for it's accuracy with a physicist, from Solar Light Company and a scientist from GRLABs. Both of these men work in sectors of their field with the photo biological safety of the nail lamps & in accurately measuring the irradiance the lamps emit.
